drivers licenseSAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- Several Northern California DMV offices recently wrapped up a pilot program that could end up denying more people California driver's licenses.

The three-tiered program tests contrast sensitivity, such as the ability to see a gray car in fog, how well a person views objects at a variety of distances, and actual driving experience.

How To Pass Your Drivers License Test

The average commute time in the US in 2000 according to the U.S. Census Bureau was Sixteen to Thirty two minutes. With an average population commute percentage close to twelve percent, it makes sense why so many of us hate riding in buses. All the more reason to get your license as soon as possible then.

Here are some good tips to get you more prepared for that fateful day.

Before you ever leave home, check your turn signals, brake lights and headlights to make sure that they are working properly. These will be tested before you ever leave the parking lot for your road test. Make sure you have any paperwork that must be turned in, and take your learner's permit with you. Travel to the testing location with a licensed driver. Getting turned down and rescheduled is not an auspicious beginning to this banner day in your life.

Drivers License Test response times

How quick are your reactions when approaching an unexpected hazard? I don't want to make you nervous or twitchy before your drivers license test, but you may want to try this game on the right to see how you go.

Try to aim for less than half a second. More than ten seconds......... not so good.

For proper training on every aspect of your driving, your best bet is to go for something professional like the road tests series.

Drivers License Test Prep & Practice

Oh man. Your drivers license test is today. Your palms are sweaty and your face just broke out because you’re so stressed. You get to drive with a complete stranger, watching your every move and judging you to see if you are worthy of your drivers license. Oh man, oh man, oh man.
Hey, don’t worry. You can do this!

The drivers license test is the last hurdle you’ll have to clear to get your drivers license. The testing officer will ride with you in your vehicle and will assess the skills you’ve learned and practiced. It can be nerve-wracking, sure, but if you’ve studied carefully and practiced sufficiently you should be well prepared for this. And no, it’s not a good idea to bring your Rules of the Road pamphlet with you for quick, easy reference during the test, even though you really want to. Reading during driving is discouraged.
